Dispatch Services:
Under the direction of Communications Manager Chris Dunn, the Communications Center provides dispatch services to the citizens of Un-Incorporated Salt Lake County, Bluffdale, Herriman, Holladay, Riverton, and Taylorsville City. The center also dispatches for Salt Lake County Search and Rescue as well as Salt Lake County Animal Services.
Dispatch Center:
The Communications Center is staffed 24 hours a day including weekends and holidays. Currently there are 43 full time dispatchers, 7 dispatch supervisors and 5 part time call takers. Each full time dispatcher is cross trained as a call taker and radio dispatcher and has met all the requirements by the State of Utah to be POST certified dispatchers including Emergency Medical Dispatcher certifications.
What information is needed by the Dispatcher?
When you call the dispatch office be prepared to provide the following information to the call taker:
- Address of the Emergency
- Call back number
- Nature of your Emergency
This information is needed so the radio dispatcher can send the appropriate help to you and update the Deputies/Officers responding as needed.
You maybe asked to stay on the telephone with the dispatcher for your safety and the safety of the personnel responding to your location.
